CAPTAIN KIRK' MISSION LOGS, PART 2
The data files are still in transit from Starfleet Headquarters. Information will be made available soon.
SEASON TWO
Catspaw:
Beaming down to Pyris VII, Kirk, Spock and McCoy confront Sulu and Scotty, who have been transformed into zombies. At the same time, they battle aliens who are out to conquer the universe and go about it through some traditional all hallows eve methods, right down to black cats and witches.
Metamorphosis:
Kirk, Spock and McCoy are transporting Federation Commissioner Nancy Hedford to the
Enterprise via the Galileo, when they are captured by an energy cloud that brings them to Gamma Canaris N. There, they meet Zephram Cochrane, a famous scientist who disappeared over a
century earlier. Cochrane, it's revealed, told the energy cloud - an intelligent creature he refers to as "The Companion" - that he was lonely; that he needed companionship. Instead of freeing him, the Companion brought the Galileo there. But matters complicate when both Nancy Hedford and the Companion find that they are dying.
Friday's Child:
Both the Federation and the Klingons vie for an alliance with the people of Capella IV, which is no easy task for Kirk and the Enterprise as the Klingon commander, Kras, backstabs them and
attempts to manipulate the Capellans at every turn. Unfortunately, the only way to make peace with the Capellans with the Federation is to ensure the safety of an unborn hild who is destined to be ruler.
Who Mourns For Adonis?
The Enterprise is literally snared by the hand of the Greek god Apollo, who has decided that the time has come for mankind to worship him again. Kirk must use the force of the starship as well as crew woman Carolyn Palamas, who is in love with Apollo, to combat his awesome powers and gain their freedom. Finally realizing that the species cannot be forced to worship anything, Apollo moves to a spiritual plane, joining the other gods who had long ago realized that their time had come and gone.
Amok Time:
It's Spock's time of pon farr - the Vulcan mating cycle. McCoy informs Kirk that Spock will die unless they divert to Vulcan, his home planet, immediately! There, T'Pring, Spock's arranged bride, chooses the rite of combat, forcing Spock to fight to the death for her. But she selects Kirk as her champion!
The Doomsday Machine:
After several star systems have been destroyed, the Enterprise investigates the situation and
discovers what's left of the USS. Constellation, with her commander, Commodore Matt Decker,
the only person on board. He relates a terrifying tale, detailing how a virtual tunnel in space emitted energy waves that sliced up whole planets which it devoured. He beamed his crew down to one of the local worlds in the hopes of protecting them, but that particular planet was the next target. Kirk and Spock come to the conclusion that this thing is actually a doomsday machine - an ultimate weapon - created by a long dead race, that has been destroying planets for centuries. Now the hope is that the Enterprise and whatever can be salvaged of the Constellation will be able to defeat it before it continues on its way.
Wolf In The Fold:
Kirk, McCoy and Scotty are visiting Argelius Two for shore leave, following an accident in which Scotty injured his head. No sooner have they arrived then a serial murderer strikes, and all evidence points to the chief engineer. A mystery follows, in which the crew of the Enterprise discovers that an alien force of pure evil that had appeared on Earth in the form of Jack the Ripper, has unleashed itself on Argelius.
The Changeling:
Over four billion people are obliterated in the Malurian star system, and the perpetrator is a
combination probe and computer identifying itself as Nomad, which has more power than the
Enterprise or the entire fleet. Nomad is brought aboard the Enterprise. Mistakenly it believes that Captain Kirk is actually its creator, Jackson Roykirk, and for that reason, he obeys Kirk's commands. In a Vulcan mind-meld, Spock learns that the machine was actually an Earth probe lost in space centuries earlier. Captured by a machine planet, it was given intelligence and the ability to purify all things impure. Kirk must trick the machine into destroying itself.
The Apple:
The Enterprise goes to a world run by Vaal, an ancient computer that controls the laws of nature as well as the inhabitants. While this is an idyllic world, the people are exactly like children. No cares and concerns, allowing Vaal to take care of them and, in turn, making offerings to "him" in appeasement. Kirk and company must make them see that this is wrong; that they have the right to govern themselves.
Mirror, Mirror:
During an ion storm, Kirk, McCoy, Scotty and Uhura are transported to a parallel dimension on
an alternate, savage Enterprise. In this universe, the Federation is as feared as the Klingons and crewmen move up in rank by assassination. Spock (with a beard) is still first officer, but his logic is coupled with a shocking ruthlessness. Kirk and company try to fit in until they figure out a way home, barely avoiding discovery by those around them. Simultaneously, Kirk tries to convince Spock to see the logic in changing the order; that the Federation will ultimately be defeated by rebel forces and he, Spock, can be the man who can lead the revolution. Scotty ultimately devises a plan by which they will attempt to duplicate the conditions present during the ion storm and transport to their own universe, but if they miss the window of opportunity, they will be trapped there forever. Meanwhile, the alternates of the landing party wreak havoc on the real Enterprise. Will they be transported back to their respectful dimensions in time?
The Deadly Years:
On a routine mission to Gamma Hydra IV, Kirk and a landing party are exposed to a fatal disease which causes accelerated aging. All of the landing party but Chekov are affected! With the leadership of the Enterprise now in the hands of arthritic, cantankerous old men, passenger Commodore Stocker assumes command. But he takes the wrong course, violating the Romulan Neutral Zone and the Enterprise is under attack! Can McCoy find a remedy before the Romulans destroy them?
I, Mudd :
The intergalactic rogue, Harcourt Fenton Mudd, returns as the self-proclaimed emperor of a planet of beautiful female androids who exist solely to save mankind. Harry sends a male android, Norman, to hijack the Enterprise to this planet so that the androids will have other humans to serve. But Harry's scheme backfires when he, Kirk, and the Enterprise crew become the androids' captives!
The Trouble With Tribbles:
Tribbles, furry creatures which eat incessantly and multiply at warp speed, cause headaches for Kirk and company while on assignment to protect a grain shipment on Space Station K-7. Here, they encounter the cuddly creatures who've begun munching their way through the grain while rapidly filling every nook and cranny of the starship. Adding to Kirk's woes are the troublesome trader and some nasty Klingons bent on sabotaging the grain shipment!
Bread And Circuses:
Discovering the wreckage of starship Beagle, Kirk, Spock and McCoy beam down to planet
892-IV, to learn Beagle's Captain Merik has betrayed his crew, beaming them down to the
planet's Roman style arena to fight to their deaths. Then, Merik adds Kirk and his crew to the list of combatants! Spock and McCoy must fight each other, and Kirk is sentenced to die!
Journey To Babel:
It's chaos aboard the Enterprise full of interplanetary diplomats en-route to a conference on Babel. Among them are Spock's father, Sarek, to whom Spock hasn't spoken in years, and his mother, Amanda. When a Tellarite is murdered, Sarek is the prime suspect but before the truth can be learned, Sarek suffers a heart attack. His only hope is a transfusion from Spock, who has replaced a wounded Kirk and refuses to leave the bridge.
A Private Little War:
Kirk and company beam down to a primitive planet visited by Kirk thirteen years ago. But some
of the once peaceful natives now have sophisticated weapons, courtesy of the Klingons!
When the witch-wife of tribal leader Tyree cures Kirk of a deadly bite, he succumbs to her magic. Can Kirk shake her spell and find a way to maintain the balance of power before the Klingons bring about total planetary warfare?
The Gamesters Of Triskelion:
Kirk, Chekov and Uhura are spacenapped by the beings of Triskelion, and forced to partake in
gladiator games they have designed to amuse themselves. Kirk turns the tables by making a wager which will either provide many more participants in the "sport," or the aliens will have to free those already in slavery.
Obsession:
Kirk becomes obsessed when he has the opportunity to battle a gaseous creature that feeds on
human blood cells, and one which he faced as a lieutenant. Half the crew of the USS Farragut
perished during that earlier battle, and Kirk has blamed himself ever since because he had
hesitated in firing his phaser at the creature.
The Immunity Syndrome:
Kirk and his crew are sent to investigate when an entire solar system is destroyed by a gigantic single-celled creature cutting a destructive swath through the universe. Kirk, Spock and McCoy are frantically trying to devise some means of stopping this entity when Spock makes a startling discovery - the giant amoeba is about to reproduce! Can they destroy it before it's too late?
A Piece Of The Action:
It's been 100 years since the U.S.S. Horizon visited the planet Iotia. What have the natives been up to? Kirk and the Enterprise crew quickly learn when they arrive to check on the planet's progress. The Iotians have developed a civilization based on a book the Horizon crew left: Chicago Mobs of the Twenties. Suddenly, Kirk and company are in the midst of a planet wide gang war!
By Any Other Name:
Answering a distress call, the Enterprise crew find themselves lured into a trap by the Kelvans, aliens from the Andromeda Galaxy who have assumed human form. The Kelvans commandeer the starship, reduce the crew to crystalline blocks, and head for Andromeda, where they plan to organize their race to take over our own galaxy! Can Kirk and Spock save not only the
Enterprise, but the entire Milky Way Galaxy as well?
Return To Tomorrow:
Three aliens who have been without bodies for centuries - having lived in a purely mental state - ask Kirk, Spock and McCoy to "loan" them their bodies so that the trio can construct androids that will house their minds. After some reluctance they agree to do so, although the being that takes over Spock decides that he likes being flesh and blood, and he will stop at nothing to keep his host, even at the expense of his two companions or the crew of the Enterprise.
Patterns Of Force:
On a routine check of planet Ekos, the Enterprise is fired upon by nuclear missiles. Kirk and
Spock investigate and find the planet is controlled by Nazis! The Prime Directive has been violated - a Federation advisor's experiment in efficient government has gotten out of control, and a war routed in racial hatred is being waged against a peaceful neighboring planet. Can Kirk and Spock end this bloody conflict and re-establish peace?
The Ultimate Computer:
Dr. Richard Daystrom is given permission by the Federation to hook his state-of-the-art
computer, the M-5, to the Enterprise to prove that a starship can be run more efficiently by a
machine than by humans. For a time, things go perfectly and Kirk begins to feel useless, but
eventually the M-5, whose memory patterns are based on Daystrom's, acts without logic,
destroying another starship for no reason. Kirk must stop this mad computer before it destroys the ship.
The Omega Glory:
Kirk, Spock and McCoy beam aboard the Exeter, in orbit around Omega IV. There, they
discover her crew reduced to a crystallized powder caused by a deadly virus to which Kirk and
the others have now been exposed. On the planet, they learn Exeter's Captain Tracey has violated the prime directive, meddling in the natives' affairs because he thinks the planet's atmosphere grants immortality. Tracey's power-hungry, and not even Kirk can stand in this madman's way!
Assignment:Earth:
In this pilot for a separate series, the Enterprise is doing some Earth research in the 20th Century, when they encounter Gary Seven, a man who had been captured by alien beings and trained to save mankind from destroying itself. Seven teams up with secretary Roberta Lincoln and tries to carry out his assignment. Kirk's dilemma is that he isn't sure of Seven's true intentions: will he help mankind or destroy it?
